My family

Five generations, from Brno to Paris

Rabbi Baruch Placzek (1834-1922): my great-grandmother Irma Placzek's father. 

Eduard Lustig (1863-1926): my father's grandfather on his mother's side, 2nd to left, likely with his brothers 

Jela/Jella Lustig (1881-1944): my father's grandmother on his mother's side, my father, my aunt. Deported to Terezín where she died of illness.

Oskar Seidler (1905-1942): my father's father, deported to Terezín and Lublin where he was murdered.

Hélène Seidler (1909-1993): my father's mother (right) in 1947 with Alice Resch Synnestvedt (1908-2007) who helped my father and aunt escape to Switzerland in February 1943.

Édouard Seidler (1932-2010): my father, who escaped from Czechoslovakia, hid in France and was "adopted" in Switzerland before returning to France after the war, where he spent the rest of his life.
